Stefanie Moore:
Voice
Stefanie Moore is a rising star in the classical singing world. She is an established force in the choral music scene, having worked extensively with such groups as four-time Grammy nominated Conspirare, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Seraphic Fire, and the Simon Carrington Chamber singers. Simon Carrington, founding member of British Men’s choral group The Kings Singers and former head of the Choral Division of the Sacred Music School at Yale University, calls her “The best choral Soprano I have ever worked with.” Stefanie is also establishing herself as a world class Baroque and Early Music soloist.
Stefanie received her Bachelors in Voice Performance and her Masters in Opera Performance from the University of Kansas. She also attended Trinity College of Music in London and sang with the Trinity Chamber Choir under the direction of Stephen Jackson, conductor of the BBC Chorus. Her London solo debut was a performance of Berlioz’s Nuits D’ete, and was soon followed by professional engagements as soloist for Haydn’s St. Nicholas Mass and the Mozart Requiem. On her return to the U.S., Stefanie sang with Dennis Shrock and the SantaFe Desert Chorale for three seasons and as a soloist for the 100th Anniversary Stravinsky Celebration performance of the Mass and Cantata. She is featured on the Santa Fe Desert Chorale’s CDs Transcendence, The Soul Speaks, and Heavenly Peace. Stefanie has collaborated with Craig Hella Johnson’s group Conspirare since 2000 and is featured on the CDs Through the Green Fuse, Bach B Minor Mass, Conspirare in Concert (CD and DVD of the National PBS Broadcast) and the upcoming live performance CD of Handel’s Messiah. She was Victoria Bach New Young Artist in 2003 and a semifinalist in the Dallas Opera Competition in 2004. Stefanie has also performed with Austin Lyric Opera, Texas Early Music Project, Texas Bach Choir, Santa Fe Pro Musica, California Bach Society, ChoraNova of Berkeley, AVE of San Francisco and the Washington Chorus. In 2007 she debuted with the Austin Symphony as Soprano Soloist for the Bach Magnificat, and debuted with Miami ensemble Seraphic Fire for a performance of the Schubert Mass in E flat with the New World Symphony and Michael Tilson Thomas.
2009-2010 finds Stefanie in the role of Galatea in Handel’s charming opera Acis and Galatea with The Eakins Consort of Philadelphia, Handel’s Israel in Egypt with Seraphic Fire, and continuing collaboration with Conspirare and the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers.
Stefanie has taught private lessons extensively in the Austin Texas area school system, from middle school to high school, and at the college level at the University of Kansas. She is thrilled to be teaching again, this time in Baltimore MD.
