Music Production
(3 hours/day)
Recording Studio Experience
Campers will work closely with a coach in our fully equipped recording studio, going through the entire creative process of writing and producing an original song—from initial concept to final release. They’ll gain hands-on experience in every stage of modern music production:
Lyric Writing
Campers will learn to express their ideas and emotions through lyrics, focusing on creativity, storytelling, and structure.
Song Structure & Composition
They’ll explore how to craft the different parts of a song—Intro, Verses, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Bridge, and Outro—to create a dynamic and engaging musical journey.
Rehearsing
Learning to play together as a band, campers will practice their original material and prepare for the recording session.
Tracking
Recording begins! Campers will track their instruments live as a group, capturing the raw energy of their performance.
Overdubbing
They’ll enhance and refine their recordings by layering additional instruments and vocal harmonies, and cleaning up any rough takes.
Mixing
Using techniques learned in production class—like EQ, compression, gain staging, and effects—campers will shape the sonic character of their song.
Mastering
The final polish! Their mixed song will be mastered to meet professional standards and optimized for all major streaming platforms.
Uploading & Sharing
Campers will learn how to upload and distribute their song to platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube—so they can proudly share their music with family, friends, and the world.
Music Production Lab. What Campers Will Learn:
Recording Techniques
Campers will learn how to set up a recording session from start to finish—whether they’re capturing vocals, instruments, or electronic sounds—while using proper mic placement, gain staging, and signal flow.
MIDI Programming & Synthesis
With MIDI keyboards at each station, students can compose and arrange music using virtual instruments. They’ll discover how to edit MIDI notes, create dynamic synth patches, and harness the power of automation.
Beat Making & Sequencing
From hip-hop to pop to EDM, modern production often starts with the beat. Campers will explore various rhythmic styles, learn how to layer drums, and utilize built-in groove tools to give their tracks a professional feel.
Arranging & Structuring Songs
Our experienced producer will guide campers in building out musical ideas into fully structured pieces. They’ll learn how to craft intros, verses, choruses, and bridges, and how to create interesting transitions.
Mixing & Basic Mastering
Students will discover the fundamentals of mixing—balancing levels, EQing, compressing, and adding effects. They’ll also learn simple mastering approaches, like using limiters and referencing their mixes for professional quality.
Collaboration & Creativity
While each camper has their own station, collaboration is highly encouraged. Campers will have the opportunity to work on group projects, exchange ideas, and perform live demos for each other, fostering a community of aspiring producers.
